Wagering at Nines: the game you pick makes the difference
A wagering requirement sets how many times a bonus has to be staked before bonus money turns into withdrawable money. The exact multiple, the deadline and the maximum bet are set by the operator and published in its terms; we do not quote them. What we show here is the part rarely discussed: how strongly your choice of game decides whether you reach the target at all.

A worked example with assumed figures: a 40-unit bonus must be wagered 25 times, so 1,000 units of stakes are needed. At 0.40 per spin that is 2,500 spins. With an RTP of 96%, the expected cost of that volume is about 40 units, roughly the size of the bonus. At Wild Bandito's 96.73% it would be around 33 units; at Mental 2's 96.06%, around 39. These are long-run averages and do not describe any actual Nines offer.
Game weighting
Many terms include a table showing how much stakes in each category count. Slots often count in full; table and live games less. Crash games like Aviator and Chicken Train are frequently excluded or discounted, and individual slots can be blocked. Read the table before you opt in.
Volatility: the route to the target
A medium-volatility game such as Wild Bandito usually makes steady progress, with small wins keeping the balance alive. Extreme titles like Mental 2 often empty the bonus before a hit arrives, or a single big hit finishes the job at once. Book of Dead, rated high, sits in between. The calmer route is more predictable; neither is cheaper, because the house edge applies to both.
Tracking progress
Many accounts show wagering progress as a bar or a number. Note it before each session. If your balance is falling much faster than the progress bar is rising, the game or stake does not suit the bonus.
Mistakes that cost bonuses
- Exceeding the maximum bet, for example on a game with a high minimum stake.
- Playing an excluded game whose stakes do not count.
- Missing the deadline.
- Requesting a withdrawal before wagering is complete, which can cancel the bonus.

Wagering in one sentence
Wagering is the total of your stakes, not your losses: stake 100 and win 90 back, and you have wagered 100. That is why turnover grows fast in quick games while the balance shrinks slowly.
